GMC Canyon Is Refreshed and More Rugged Than Ever

GMC is upgrading their midsize pick-up to boast a more sophisticated, ready for off-roading style than ever before. Offering a new trim for more off-roading capabilities, complete with new tech inside the cabin, the 2023 GMC Canyon is refreshed inside and out.

The 2023 GMC Canyon lineup arrived on the scene with four impressive trim levels, including the new AT4X trim. The Canyon has evolved since its inception in 2004, and its new tech features and all-encompassing trim levels set it apart from other midsize pick-ups on the market.

The four trim levels include:

  • Elevation
  • AT4
  • Denali
  • AT4X

The 2023 GMC Canyon’s increased multimedia touchscreen comes in at 11.3 inches, matching that of the Chevy Colorado. This comes standard alongside a fully digital instrument cluster and an optional head-up display.
With the Elevation and AT4 trim levels, the instrument cluster display measures at 8 inches, and 11.1 inches with the Denali and AT4X trim levels. In addition to a fully digital information center, wireless connectivity for both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay comes standard with all trim levels.

Not only does the 2023 GMC Canyon’s boast completely upgraded tech compared to generations past, but all of the trim levels also feature an off-road suspension with a wider track and a 2-inch lift over last year’s model. This gives the Canyon an even greater boost in ground clearance to at least 9.6 inches. The new AT4X trim level gives off-roaders an even higher ground clearance of 10.7 inches.

THE MOST OFF-ROAD CAPABLE CANYON EVER

The Canyon’s new AT4X trim level is an evolution of the AT4 trim introduced in 2020. The AT4 trim was the most popular trim level last year, and the AT4X is another outstanding addition to the Canyon’s lineup.

The Canyon AT4X is purposefully engineered to be a premium off-roading midsize truck with serious equipment, advanced technology, and enhanced capability. The package includes:

  • Factory Lift and Ultra-Wide Track: This adds another inch of suspension lift, underbody protection, and unique bumpers for additional approach and departure clearances.
  • Multimatic DSSV Dampers: This offers increased control and comfort on-road, and greater performance for all of your off-road adventures.
  • Off-Road Optimized 2.7L Turbo Engine: This high-torque, 2.7L turbo engine comes standard across all trims, providing a best-in-class gas engine for on- and off-road drivers.
  • Enhanced Front and Rear Electronic Locking Differentials: For optimized traction, the 2023 Canyon offers front and rear e-lockers to allow drivers to engage front or rear axles to lock both wheels at the same speed.
  • Off-Road Performance Display: With the center screen instrument clusters, drivers can monitor real time metrics of the off-road excursion.

Interior
Drivers can enjoy sleek, modern interior in the Canyon AT4X, with seats covered in black, white, and red, as well as darkened chrome accents. This color palette was inspired by winter sports. Drivers will also notice intentional design elements and excellent craftsmanship, including laser etched wood and smooth, leather appointments.
