Which GMC Vehicles Have Super Cruise?
GMC vehicles are highly regarded for reliability, standing the test of time with a long list of driver-approved attributes. In fact, impeccable design and craftsmanship ensure GMC vehicles outperform the rest in styling, comfort, and capabilities.
GMC vehicles remain on the leading edge of technology too, with General Motors’ first hands-free driver assist system, Super Cruise, introduced in 2017. Since its debut, GM vehicles have covered millions of miles with Super Cruise in action – and the technology even earned a “Best of What’s New” award in Popular Science’s automotive category.
Read on to find out how this technology works and to learn which models come equipped with Super Cruise. Then, stop by your local Greenville GMC dealership to test drive a new GMC SUV or truck!

WHAT IS SUPER CRUISE?
Super Cruise is GMC’s hands-free driver-assistance technology, designed to add confidence behind the wheel on compatible roads – over 200,000 miles of non-divided highways throughout the U.S. and Canada. General Motors is the very first to provide these capabilities, available on select vehicles after you sign up for an active GMC Connected Services plan. Super Cruise-equipped vehicles are also connected to OnStar Emergency services!
How It Works
Super Cruise models utilize Adaptive Cruise Control, sensors, real-time cameras, GPS, and LiDar map data to maintain a pre-set following distance and optimize lane centering. To engage the Super Cruise system:
- The vehicle must be on a compatible road with clearly visible lane markings.
- Adaptive Cruise Control must be on.
- Forward Collision System must be set to ALERT AND BRAKE.
- Teen Driver system must be off.
Here’s how to use Super Cruise technology:
- Turn Adaptive Cruise Control to ON on your steering wheel.
- Watch for the Super Cruise indicator light on your instrument cluster.
- Press the Super Cruise button on the steering wheel.
- Remove your hands from the steering wheel once the symbol and light bar illuminate.
- When finished, press the Super Cruise button or brake.
Select models now feature Automatic Lane Change with Side Blind Zone Alert, a convenient feature that allows your vehicle to change lanes without driver input while Super Cruise is active. To cancel, just move the turn signal.
